BT can't be real as he lacks the ability to be an ordinary in the ordinary world of reality. BT can be a work of fiction as he possesses the ability to be an extraordinary in the extraordinary world of imagination. This close encounter or introspection by an apparent opposing personality Ganesh Swaminathan can neither be a real nor be a fiction as which of him is real and which of him is unreal, no one knows, even BT doesn't. It is left open to interpretation.

Mayandi Thevar (A) Principado De Vergara (A) Marudhai
Parents are of different kind,
1.The Investment Managers : These parents spend money on their kids , have narcissistic attachment and look at them as an investment/property or avenues to hedge their money and later recover.
2.The Academic image freaks - A poor set of deluded souls troubling themselves and their kids.
3.The Clouds - As the name suggests, they shower unconditional love and affection , understand their children and build character and motivation .
Mr.Mayandi's father is of the third kind, from what i heard , he groomed, went with Mayandi's ways , Supported him and indirectly built an aristocracy yet elitism seeking soul , which was fighting the rustic instincts of Mayandi , Aristocracy of Vergara and the good samaritan image of Marudai.
His fabric cried for Aristocracy and Elitism , His rustic instincts mercilessly tore the elite fabric with which he tried to cover , while Marudai tried to balance out the acrimony between the two.
Every day or night , Mayandi had to put up with the three different souls ever waging war against each other, who won? we will see.
Lets travel back in time and draw a few analogy to French Renaissance period , The "Divine Order" propounded by the Catholic clergies & Religious Leaders. Iam comparing the levels with the telecom company's management to establish an understanding for the readers..
E1 : The Monarch or the Top Management
E2 : The Noble Men & Catholic Clergies : Middle & Senior Management & The self appointed Elitists , who were not worthy to be Elites, but they claimed to be so , Much akin to the sweet fruit present inside the myriad layers in the Onions.
E3 : The Working class & Peasants .Our guy Mayandi was part of E3.
When the Philosophers and Rationalists questioned the divine order , Renaissance broke out catapulted by Print media and Press. The story later is well known .
While E2's elitists mocked Mayandi for his thoughts and ideas , A deeper view on their life indicated they were just beneficiaries of Market movements and a market that perpetually grew , People who found themselves in positions during a huge Market uplift called themselves innovators , elites, Intelligentsia and other nauseating terms which were duly owned by them . During the time of crisis , E2's went blank , they hid themselves , they ran away , they just couldnt accept the identity crisis they were in. And thus fell down the top market operator to position no.2. [You get the drift now].The Monarchs ran away.
However Imagine Mayandi being part of E3 and raises questions, while he was too young to be considered a significant rebel, his thoughts and his approach were way ahead of the current market scenario . He was the original Elite , a man of infinite thoughts and opportunities .
Mayandi , was atheltic , Normal built and dark , He wore tailor made stitched outfits with a keen eye for detail. Even during casual days , he ensured he was well dressed and presentable.His father ensured he dressed only in Raymonds .
It was during those days , you are loaded with work and you needed a helping hand yet someone smart enough to pick things up fast. As i sat together in the interview panel , After meeting a few of them Mayandi walks in.
His meeting with us was foreshadowed by his inquisitiveness and his performance in the training sessions. During the question hours he was impressive with ability to grasp and explain what he observed from multiple other departments.
He had a bunch of notebooks and wrote down everything, almost to an extent that he wrote down his visits to the toilet. After a few days , I had to ruffle him up to give up the habit.
Mayandi fancied english movies and took inspirations from them , he once timed his visit for a movie the mission impossible by driving his bike for exactly half an hour from santhome to Nungambakkam . He is the absolute brand loyalist any company would love to have.
He could easily sniff out the mediocracy in anyone's work and sometimes mayandi thevar got the best out of him , while vergara died to resurface. Marudhai one the other hand made him submissive.
His inquisitiveness and creative impulse made him impatient , he didnt realise people could be different ,and not everyone is going to be the same .
His challenges surfaced once he moved to a different boss. While i was on my way out to a different company , He was beaten to dust ,black and blue and when he resigned was offered a different role in the same company but a different circle.
While i offered him a role in my team twice during my stints with various other companies , he initially wanted to take up the offer and later refused , each and everytime his rustic mayandi taking over rather than vergara.
Years passed, one fine day by midnight i get a call from Mayandi that his father was ........., I jumped out of my bed with a start, I knew Mayandi to be eccentric but not to this extent. While i tried to fight my sanctity trying to convince myself that iam only hearing the truth.
The following day i called back Mayandi and tried to console. But what can a man say to console another man? We just speak words,the pain can only be experienced by the man who felt the nail drive into his palm.
Years passed again , I joined the same telecom company back , and call it the karma ,This time it was in E2 , I saw Mayandi join here but in a different function but falling under E2.
This time, I could see Vergara take over completely, Mayandi was nowhere to be seen , Veragara moved around, here and there , the delight could be seen .
But Vergara had too much fun , Though vergara looked mighty , he is no match for Mayandi's rustic brilliance , Mayandi took over in a flash and He was him again.
Lets pause this farce for a moment, Was Mayandi just trying to fight off his own faculties? , was he trying to fend off his instincts by trying to Vergara ?
In reality , Marudhai and Mayandi were the best alter ego's for Mayandi , Not Vergara. Mayandi threw vergara out , Just like removing a tight shirt which irritated the collar bone.
He tried reviving vergara, Vergara was beaten to dust , his skin tarnished and just like a blemished spot on the young skin which went deep as the kid grew, Vergara died a slow death and was barely alive.
Vergara is now fiction , And lives as movie memories in Mayandi's Facebook Pages.

I'm certain that this sounds like a self propaganda. But, I'm deliberately doing it for a reason.
