Snippet | Character Study | Madurai Suruli
Here is to Little Madurai!
Republic of Mattuthavani!
Arguably, those who fight racism are racist themselves. What unites a state or a nation, is what divides a state or a nation. Equality is a myth, at least in the conscience of humans.
I admit that I have been both a liberal and a racist. It can't be helped as that's the natural order. Unlike him, I'm never a purist. The moral dilemma of switching between conflicting ideologies of a liberal and a racist, will prevail at least for me. Because not all immigrants are victims and not all racists are perpetrators. No one is absolutely good nor bad.
I wish Suruli manifested this real trait of Madurai (he does and he confesses) but he had to pretend to be a purist because of the economical success of his product or Karthik Subbaraj" Jagame Thandhiram. However, those who disseminate opposing ideas of the film could be subjective and they must have vested interests. Do watch the film for yourself. A captivating killing spree of Madurai Braveheart in London.

This post is not exhasutive. There will be addendum on the real traits of Madurai. Filmmakers have the obligation of making the characters of Madurai sometimes a hero, a villain or a pursuit. However, the real people of Madurai existed till 80s are neither of them. They are a equal mixture of good and evil.
