Character Study

A mathematician turned revolutionary.
With an IQ of 167, he earned a scholarship to Harvard at the age of 16.

What I'm attempting to study is what made a genius, transform into a profound thinker, without concluding as he had been already labelled several including child prodigy, murderer, serial killer, terrorist. Therefore leaving the readers to judge or interpret, whose opinion, will I neither advocate nor oppose.

A genius who attributed all the socioeconomic problems of humanity to modernity, rather industrial society and suggests that the only possible solution to end all the problems, humanity has ever encountered is reinstating primitive way of existence. Even though, he denies that his psychological condition attributed to social withdrawal, which happened thrice in his life, led him to distance himself from people.

As a toddler, he developed certain biological conditions on his skin, which demanded isolation in hospital for a week by doctors for reasons only known to them. Consequently, he seemed detached and seldom established eye contact. Being ahead of his peers, his intelligence quotient granted him an admission at the elite Harvard university. He increasingly became attached to a professor who seemed to share his philosophy. He didn't know that he worked for the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) in developing sophisticated mind manipulation interrogation techniques. As a part of the experiment, his philosophies were discredited and deemed plagiarized so as to break him and adopt ideologies favorable to the greater good of the society. He persisted because he needed to prove that nothing could break him. In effect, his social withdrawal augmented.

He chose mathematics because it doesn't require learning and discussing as a team. He successfully acquired a PH.D and taught mathematics in a university. He increasingly became disturbed of the system, with the money he earned, he bought a cabin (a box) in a wilderness. A woman showed him empathy and appeared to be romantically interested and then withdrew for reasons only known to her.  This did not provoke him, instead fuelled him to complete his manifesto - a life's work, "Industrial Society and its consequences", which was eventually published by leading dailies and a significant proportion of readers started recognising not only the author, but became appreciable of his ideas of technologies and industries enslaving humanity, which are supposed to work for humans but the case is otherwise.

Since his ideas were repeatedly declined, he chose targets, which were representative of the industrial society - scientists, scholars, researchers and technologists. His victims encapsulate universities and airlines, hence the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), named him "Unabomber". He had a secret coded journal on how his victims were selected and how he progressed in making bombs. He wouldn't have never been caught from his box in the wilderness unless a first of its kind approach was adopted by the FBI, which would be studied separately in brief.

While this character study doesn't necessarily endorse the actions of #TheodoreJohnKaczynski, aka "Unabomber", it might empathize with his manifesto only on the aspect of industries dictating humans to be slaves and reinstating to the primitive way of human existence as a possible solution to all problems. Moreover, this character study is solely based on the Netflix's television series " #ManhuntUnabomber ", and the documentary " Unabomber in his own words"and done solely for historical and research purposes.

This character study is not exhaustive and top of the mind recall. Addendums will be published as and when time permit.
