VE Day May 8
Today, May 8, is been celebrated as VE day (Victory in Europe), as 75 years ago today, on 8th May, 1945, allied forces formally accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, subsequently declared ceasefire. On 7th May, 1945, Nazis surrendered, marking the beginning of end of World War II.

With Berlin surrounded, Adolf Hitler committed suicide on 30th April 1945, Nazi German forces unconditionally surrendered to the allies on 7th May 1945. Thus ending the second world war in Europe. Six years of death, suffering and privations ended. Consequently, 8th May of 1945 was declared a national holiday, furthermore called 'VE Day' (Victory in Europe).
