MyBooks | Stay Hungry Stay Foolish

While this book was written by a professor of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A), which deals with the business stories of IIM A graduates, who chose the entreprenurial route instead of their typical choice of the head of sales and marketing functions of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), an industry whose existence disrupted would put our daily lives in jeopardy.

On introspection, I learnt that while the IIM A grads struggled for translating their business idea into a successful business venture, in reality, they were always rescued by their certificate or the label they carried with them, the so-called "IIM A Grad". Even if they make a mistake or fail, it is talked about as a case study or a management lesson, which doesn't happen with someone who did the same but didn't have the branding of " IIM".  Therefore, I chose to stop reading the book halfway through.
'Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish' - the phrase, which is increasingly becoming synonymous with my life. People often ask me, 'Balaji, what do you do for living?', I tell them, what I borrowed from Steve Jobs's remarkable speech at the graduation ceremony of class of 2005 in Standford university that, 'I'm staying hungry, staying foolish'. I'm doing things others think are foolish (because of the fact that i instinctively take the road less travelled and not acquired material wealth as much as they do) and staying hungry for something more of it.
Remembering maverick entrepreneur - creator, Steve Jobs, on his ninth death anniversary (Oct 5 | 2011). I have read the book ' Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish' inspired by the speech of Steve Jobs, authored by Rashmi Bansal, professor of IIM Ahmedabad.

Standford speech:

This book is about entrepreneurs graduated from IIM A, who didn't take the usual corporate jobs, instead made difference as entrepreneurs. Yes, the book has to do something with Steve Jobs, not only is the title inspired from his speech, but spirit.

Authored by Balaji Thangapandian aka #BT - a spacefarer, who is also curious about film-making, connectivity technologies and military history.
