Apollo Programme

Apollo Programme:

Will be back by 2024 or who knows sooner!

This time we are going back but to stay forever.
I wish I could be one among them.

Apollo Moon Programme is reportedly still humankind's single greatest technological accomplishment. Thank you very much indeed BBC News and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration for making vital insights of the programme public, which make spacefarer like me even more interested in space exploration, especially lunar.

SaturnVRocket is still one of the most powerful rockets ever built.

You may argue that Apollo mission never happened or the moon landing was staged. I differ. 53 years ago on July 16, 1969 humanity took an unimaginable leap and landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. Humans are meant to explore the vast vacuum of space, colonize cosmos and transform into multi-planetary species. Remembering the Apollo 11 mission and its crew, Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and many unsung heroes behind the screen.

July 20, 1969:
'That's one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind.' - Neil Armstrong.
52 years ago today on 20th July 1969, humans, specifically, the crew of Apollo 11 landed on the moon for the very first time. To commemorate the efforts and accomplishment, today is considered to be 'Moon Day'.

52 years ago on 21st December, 1968, humans launched their very first successful attempt to reach the moon. Now, we are going to stay on the moon permanently. I don't care if you a moon landing denier. I desperately need to leave planet Earth. If a civilian were to be part of the moon mission, I'd be the first to volunteer.

July 24, 1969:
Apollo 11's crew successfully splashdown in the Pacific Ocean and fulfill President Kennedy’s goal, but before the celebrations begin they don biohazard suits inside the spacecraft given to them by Navy 'frogmen' to begin the quarantine process until it is determined that there is no threat that returned with them from the Moon.  After arriving on board the aircraft carrier, USS Hornet, they are placed in the Mobile Quarantine Facility and shortly a ceremony honoring the crew with President Nixon welcoming them back after a successful mission.  The cost of Apollo 11 is $355 million US in 1969 ($2.3 billion US in 2016).

A space mission is mostly successful only on it's safe return of astronauts to Earth. 50 years ago today on 24th July, 1969, the #Apollo11 crew safely returned to planet Earth. The objective of this mission was crewed lunar landing and safe return to Earth. Mission accomplished.

August 23, 1966:
The first ever image of Earth, seen from the Moon, is taken aboard Lunar Orbiter-1.  LO-1 launched August 10, 1966 and its primary purpose was to photograph and transmit images of the lunar surface back to Earth for scientists to select and verify safe landing sites for the Surveyor & Apollo spacecraft.

53 years ago today humans landed on the only natural satellite of planet Earth, #Moon.

Now, not only humans are returning to the Moon, but colonizing it and going beyond. Arguably, humans are not from Earth, and are an intergalactic species and locusts. In the future, earth is going to be annihilated by man-made or natural catastrophe. Consequently, humanity will colonize the solar system, exploit the resources and move on to other star systems and galaxies. That's is how humanity is staying true of being an intergalactic species. This notion doesn't have anything to do with #ApolloProgramme. If you intend to know about it, you may proceed reading. Else you may continue to lead your mundane existence on planet Earth.
