Character Study | Moon Obsessed

‘We need to fail down here, so we don’t fail up there.’

He becomes reckless in leaving planet Earth to the moon, not because he aspires to do so. But because it is too late. His battle is two pronged: Help his nation to be the first to reach the moon. And, recover from the death of his daughter from cancer. He becomes reckless. While he is distracted because of the personal loss and professional failures, he becomes obsessed with becoming the first man to set foot on the moon. He accomplishes at the cost of sacrificing his peace and mind.

This man is legendary Neil Armstrong.

This character study is based on the feature film "FirstMan" (2018), directed by Damien Chazelle starring Ryan Gosling.

This year marks 51 years since the Apollo Programme "Apollo51".

October 12, 2018:
The release of the #FirstMan - a biopic of Neil Armstrong coincided with the anomaly of Russia's #Soyuz spacecraft. Yesterday (October 11, 2018) an anomaly occurred in the Soyuz, which was carrying an astronaut and a cosmonaut to the International Space Station (#ISS). This incident happened 90 seconds into flight in its ascent to ISS. Reportedly, a booster failed, it's trajectory changed, subsequently the spacecraft descended to Earth without any casualties. Possibly, a criminal investigation would be opened by #ROSCOSMOS (Russian Space Agency) and #NASA.
